Bear 31 is a yellow stuffed teddy bear with the number 31 embroidered onto the right side of its chest. It's a mostly peaceful being. It enjoys spending its time socializing and being with other species at base, it is also one of the few beings that can be let out into the public safely. For this reason, Bear 31 has been to most major cities on Mars, travelled to Earth, and is currently travelling most cities back on Earth. Bear 31 also has a stable job, it works as a janitor and even occasionally serves as a KHS employee. However, it is labelled as a hempatic taramocious species for a reason. Mainly its conciousness, its ability to hold a stable job and speak english, but also because if Bear 31 does not socialize for more than 48 hours, it will go manic (assumed from boredom), lasting anywhere from 6 hours to 2 weeks. This is why it is important that Bear 31 talks to others frequently.

It has committed many criminal acts in its time on Earth and a few on Mars. Lawyers of KHS have assisted fully and Bear 31 has only served 3 months of an almost 2 century long sentence. It has a complicated history of creating and selling narcotics to the innocent all throughout Southern California and even parts of New York City.
If Bear 31 does not socialize for 48 hours, it goes manic. The most common things that the teddy will do is breakdown, throw a tantrum, and commit any crimes it feels like committing. So far, as of 2053, Bear 31 has yet to commit any heinous crimes, such as crimes against children. The most severe crimes Bear 31 has committed that have been reported include 3rd degree vehicular manslaughter, arson, and 1st degree murder. It only served 3 months of its 15 year sentence.
The significance of Bear 31 is not to be underestimated. Before 31's discovery, it was believed that no hempatic taramocious species would be able to exhibit both human-like behaviors and speak a human developed language. The uncovering of this being proved that anything was possible with hempatic taramocious species, including a species that had full human capabilites. This was massive for our services.
